Lighting products feature in low energy show

These days, the emphasis on environmental issues is rising, with consumers increasingly aware of the potentially harmful effect their actions have on the world around them. For this reason, the market for eco-friendly home lighting and other products is rising.

Many homeowners now make use of light fittings that are compatible with low-energy bulbs and dimmers often come with products so that the level of light emitted by devices can be lowered.

Last month, the Isle of Man held an event designed to draw attention to such offerings. According to an article on isleofman.com, the Low Energy Expo was "well attended", suggesting that interest in saving energy is strong among consumers and people in the industry.

Indeed, the demand for products of this nature may continue to rise as utility providers continue to put their prices up.

Held at Douglas Golf Club, the expo provided people with an insight into the latest developments in the field. They got to see a range of low energy electrical systems, including home lighting and other light fittings. Also on display were solar heating products and energy management systems.

In total, around 20 firms had stands at the show, which was coordinated by electrical company City Electrical Factors.

Speaking while the event was still taking place, the organisation's general manager Graham Wignall said: "The very latest in low energy products are on display with the experts there as well to answer questions. This is a show not just for the trade but also for the public and gives people in insight into the very latest developments in the industry."

As well as getting to see the lighting, heating and energy management products on offer, attendees also got the chance to take advantage of special offers and there was a free prize draw for a 42-inch television.
